The 40 Year Old Bat Mitzvah

Miramonte Winery’s patio is humble but has terrific views (with vertigo-inducing parking lots and driveways to match), plus a bear-like Newfoundland named Mira who accepts gentle petting with good grace, especially if you offer her a few oyster crackers from the bar. Their popular Vibe events feature a fun crowd and live music but nothing can beat sipping their Four Torch Red (like a meritage blend) at sunset with a few friends. Better than therapy.

Temecula Library (Pauba Road)
Great views, and since beverages are allowed, I can bring a thermos of tea and sit in a comfortable chair overlooking the canyon below and catch up on magazines. One of my favorite things about Temecula’s other library, the Grace Mellman branch, is their beautiful wisteria arbor. When Pauba Road opened, they planted wisteria on the pathway leading from the parking lot, and it is finally starting to bloom.
